Hey, Magic Knights! Get ready to shout along because Asta’s iconic roar has returned to the Clover Kingdom in English! Crunchyroll has officially brought back the Black Clover Season 2 English dub, ending a five-year gap that felt like an eternity for fans!
The first dubbed episode dropped last week, and thankfully, we won’t be waiting another five years for more. Crunchyroll confirmed new episodes will follow weekly, so your ears are in for a treat every single week!
The Roar Returns: Asta’s Back in English!
The air is buzzing with excitement! After what felt like an endless hiatus, the familiar, unyielding voice of Dallas Reid’s Asta is once again echoing across our screens. Hearing him yell “I’m not giving up!” in English hits different, stirring up all the nostalgic feels from the original 170 episodes. This isn’t just a return; it’s a full-blown reunion party for the Black Clover dub community!
The Familiar Voices of the Clover Kingdom
What’s a return without the legendary voices that brought these characters to life? We’re thrilled to confirm that Dallas Reid is back as our favorite anti-magic wielder, Asta, and Micah Solusod returns as his calm, magical rival, Yuno. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg! The first episode of Season 2 is packed with an incredible ensemble of returning talent, ensuring the Clover Kingdom sounds exactly as you remember:
- Asta voiced by Dallas Reid
- Yuno voiced by Micah Solusod
- Liebe voiced by Bryce Papenbrook
- Nacht voiced by Max Mittelman
- Fuegoleon voiced by J. Michael Tatum
- Julius voiced by Robert McCollum
- Mereoleona voiced by Monica Rial
- Nozel voiced by Ricco Fajardo
- Charlotte voiced by Colleen Clinkenbeard
- Dante voiced by Patrick Seitz
- Zenon voiced by Zeno Robinson
And many, many more familiar voices round out the cast, from the loyal Magic Knights to the menacing antagonists, promising a truly immersive experience!
Behind the Magic: The Dub Crew
Bringing such an anticipated return to life takes a dedicated and talented team. We’ve got to give a huge shout-out to the crew making this magic happen:
- Jason Lord is directing the English dub, with Ryan Negron as Assistant Voice Director.
- Susie Nixon is producing, and Bonny Clinkenbeard is meticulously handling the adaptation, ensuring every line rings true.
- Studio producers Justin Cook, Michael Harcourt, and Nathanael Harrison oversee the operation, with Benjamin Tehrani on adaptation prep, August Cline engineering, and Rickey Watkins mixing.
It’s a dream team ready to deliver the top-tier dub we deserve!
Where We Left Off & What’s Next
So, where does Season 2 pick up? Right where the epic journey left off! For newcomers or those needing a quick refresh, Black Clover drops us into a world where magic reigns supreme. Asta, born without any magical ability, and Yuno, a prodigy, are two orphans chasing the impossible dream of becoming the Wizard King.
The new season is directed by Ayataka Tanemura, known for his work on Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King film. And if you’re already feeling nostalgic, you’re not alone – episode 3 even threw in “Grandeur” by Snow Man, one of the original series’ iconic opening themes, as an insert song during a massive battle! Get ready for a blend of fresh narrative and beloved throwbacks.
Sub vs. Dub: Your Weekly Dose of Magic
Good news, whichever way you like to consume your Black Clover! The Japanese broadcast of the new season kicked off earlier this month (October 3rd) on TV Tokyo, airing every Saturday at 11:00 p.m. JST, with Crunchyroll simulcasting it with subtitles. The best part? The English dub is only a couple of weeks behind the Japanese broadcast, so you won’t have to wait long to hear Asta’s English shouts every week!
